INR Assist - for Users of Coumadin or Warfarin 1.0

INR Assist serves as a valuable tool for individuals on blood thinners, particularly by enabling them to monitor their Vitamin K intake, which directly influences INR/PT results.

This application allows users to privately log their dietary consumption, offering rapid access to nutrient data on a wide array of foods. Specifically, it includes information on 8,789 different foods and 15,438 distinct food servings, all sourced from the USDA National Nutrient Database for Standard Reference. The key nutrients tracked are:

• Calories
• Vitamin K (including Vitamins K1, K1D & K2)

Nutrients are organized in alphabetical order throughout the app, complemented by icons derived from individual applications developed by the same creator, each corresponding to a specific nutrient found within this app.

The app harnesses comprehensive data from the USDA National Nutrient Database for both of these essential nutrients, contrasting with many individual apps that typically cover only about 10% of this available information.

The Search functionality is notably efficient, with all necessary data stored locally within the app, eliminating the need for internet connectivity. Users can save their daily food intake directly from search results. They can choose a serving size and record between 0.1 to 9.9 servings or create a custom serving size ranging from 1 to 500 grams. A visual representation of nutrient levels is provided through color coding which ranges from white to black (where black indicates extremely high levels), with gray indicating unavailable data:

• Black — Extremely High
• Dark Red — Very High
• Red — High
• Orange — Moderately High
• Yellow — Moderate
• Light Green — Moderately Low
• Green — Low
• Light Blue — Very Low
• White — Extremely Low
• Gray — Unknown

The My Data section grants access to an extensive record of Food Serving Intake Items for up to one year, housed in the user's Personal iNutrients Database. Each day's record features an Action button for easily transferring all Food Servings to the current list.

Within the My Data section, users may select any Intake Item to view detailed information. The functionality available includes:

• Delete: Remove the current Food Serving.
• Change Number of Servings: Modify the serving quantity for the selected Food Intake Item.
• Change the Intake Date: Adjust the date of entry for a Food Serving, offering flexibility for those who may not record their intake in real-time.
• Copy Intake Item to Today: Add the current Food Serving to today's entry.

The Customize section allows users to design a personalized Color Scale for each nutrient as desired.

A feature visible only on iPad is the rotating imagery representing the 25 different Food Groups as designated by the USDA. These images typically accompany food group identifications throughout the app.

No internet connection is needed for basic operations as the complete USDA National Nutrient Database regarding the two covered nutrients is integrated into the app, ensuring swift response times for searches.

User data can be backed up and restored through iTunes on both Mac and PC platforms.
